So.

Last week I stopped analyzing and went on doer mode. I bought a domain mongoliantrek.com and started to set up a website. I blew off the dust of my coding skills and wrote the first line. I researched pictures, just to realize that many pictures of Mongolia are subjected to licenses. Yay. Anyway - why the heck did I start a blog about MONGOLIA?

I have been thinking about this for some time. Never been to Mongolia. Surely not you either. Sad moment again. :(

There is a reason I started this. Here is the bulletlist on WHY, WHEN, HOW, WHAT.

WHY I started this blog about Mongolia:
In March earlier this year, I got a tip from an SEO expert. He said, start a website. Write about something you love and can continue to write about for quite some time. Experiment with different SEO tactics on the site. Perhaps the site will be penalized by Google, perhaps it will lose rankings at some point, it really doesn't matter. This is your playground. Brush yourself off every time and continue experimenting.

Basically what he taught me is that one can read tactics on the web, hang in forums and learn a lot. It is a great, sharing community. However, the most important research and learnings you get are from your own experimentations.  That is one argument WHY I am doing this on the side of my everyday work. My own playground. Quite a big reason if you examine it by the seams. So often at everyday work we are dependant on others to bring the whole project further. No problem with that at all. But I want to create my own project and be able to speed it up, not being dependant on the client or other parties. I just wanna go, go go!

Okay I said it was a bulletlist. This big paragraph is not a bulletlist at all. So here it is:

WHY
1) Want to go to Mongolia, this is my travel research
2) Experiment on tactics
3) There is no ultimate Mongolia place to find information about
4) I love to write
5) If I really succeed I can perhaps sell this or other way fund my trip there...?
6) With doing this as my travel research I can never loose. It is a winning game, where I get to know Mongolia and plan my trip as I'm doing it while also learning and experimenting

HOW
How am I doing this Mongolian blog? Big question. Few answers. I will figure it out as I go.

WHEN
I do this project now. With start pronto! When I will travel to Mongolia is perhaps next summer if everything goes to plan. You never know about life you know.

WHAT IS THIS?
It is a blog about Mongolia, summarizing travel trips, history and everything that is related and interesting to read about Mongolia. It is also a project which I will experiment with marketing tactics on.

Any more questions?

Wish me luck. This will be an interesting ride. Hope somebody will ride it with me. Perhaps not in body, but perhaps in mind and in soul.

Talk to you soon!
